Residential Summer Course Scholarship

All students attending the CUSA Residential Summer Course will be considered throughout the week for scholarships to the Course the following year.

Any student who has passed a Cecchetti exam from a CICB corporate member organization is eligible to become a Ballet Scholar and is eligible for Ballet Scholars awards.

At each Residential Summer course the following scholarships will be awarded for use at the next CUSA residential program:

One (1) Full Tuition, Room and Board awarded to any attendee

One (1) Tuition awarded to a Ballet Scholar

The scholarships awarded at the residential summer course will be chosen by a committee comprised of the head chaperone, one attending examiner, one faculty member at large and the lead pianist or designee. The committee will be chosen by the CUSA Board of Directors.

The committee will be looking for those dancers who demonstrate a strong work ethic, exemplary behavior and an unbridled enthusiasm for the Cecchetti work. They will have fully participated throughout the course. A dancer may not receive the full tuition, room and board scholarship two years in succession.

All attendees will wear a nametag with a number throughout the week. All nominees will be acknowledged and the winners announced as decided by the Executive Director and the Director of Examinations.

No discussion will be entered into with parents or students regarding the decisions of the committee.

At each regional workshop a $200 Residential Summer course scholarship to one Ballet Scholar candidate chosen by the guest featured teacher. In addition one runner up will be chosen.

At each regional workshop one full tuition scholarship is given to a Ballet Scholar candidate to attend another CUSA regional workshop within the next year. In case of a tie, two awards will be given.
