Membership Information

Levels of Membership

The following 5 categories are the membership levels for CECCHETTI USA.  Please select which level you are entitled to join.  The CUSA membership year is from January 1 – December 31.  Membership is due by January 1st each year.  After March 31 a late fee of $25 will be applied.  Members who have allowed their membership to lapse for more that one year must pay a $50 reinstatement fee.  No member teachers will be allowed to present students for exams unless their membership is current.

Qualified Members ($125 per year)

  • Eligible after having passed the Associate Exam and above
  • May use qualifying initials (ACUSA, LCUSA, FCUSA)
  • May advertise Cecchetti qualification
  • Eligible to submit students for examination as defined in the Syllabi for Teaching Examinations
  • Members receive discounts at local Cecchetti USA sponsored workshops
  • Receive newsletter, membership card, and certificate

Certified Member ($150.00 per year)

  • Designed for teachers who have passed Grade 4 and Teaching Certificate 1 or above
  • Eligible to submit students for examination as defined in the Syllabi for Teaching Examinations
  • Members receive discounts at local Cecchetti USA sponsored workshops
  • Receive newsletter, membership card and certificate

Certified Student-Teacher ($50 per year)

  • Designed for young teachers between the ages of 16-25 who have passed a Teaching Certificate examination
  • Eligible to submit students for examination as defined in the Syllabi for Teaching Examinations
  • Members receive discounts at local Cecchetti USA sponsored Workshops
  • Receive newsletter, membership card and certificate

Affiliate/Retired Teacher Member (minimum of $50.00 per year)

  • Designed for dance teachers, professionals, and donors who wish to support Cecchetti USA
  • Members receive discounts at local Cecchetti USA sponsored workshops
  • Receive newsletter, membership card and certificate

Cecchetti Ballet Scholar ($30.00 per year)

  • Designed for students under 21 who are currently training in the Cecchetti Method of Ballet under a Certified/Qualified teacher by a CICB corporate member organization
  • Receive discounts at local CUSA workshops
  • Receive a gift when paid in full by June 1st
  • Eligible to win scholarships to regional and national workshops after taking a ballet exam (must attend these workshops to be considered)

Acceptance of credentials from other Cecchetti organizations

  • Candidates must submit copies of the last certificate and exam report and a short history of training and exams to include: dates, teachers, locations, examining organization.
  • CUSA may accept equivalents of CUSA Grades 1-10 and Diploma with review by Director of Exams and the Executive Director of CUSA
  • May accept equivalent of CUSA teaching exams including TC 1, TC 2 and Associate exams with receipt of copies of these certificates and exam report accompanied by information regarding past and current teaching positions to be reviewed and approved by the Director of Exams and the Executive Director of CUSA
  • Acceptance of higher levels of teaching is to be reviewed by the Board of Examiners

Deadlines

  • All members with the exception of Ballet Scholars must pay the membership fee annually. Membership fees are due on January 1.  The enrollment deadline is March 31 of each year. A late fee of $25.00 will be applied to fees received after the deadline. Membership must be current before requesting examinations.
  • A former member may reinstate a membership that has lapsed for more than a year for a fee of $50 in addition to their regular membership fee.
